IT Consulting & Product Development
We advise on what to build, then stay to build it. Architecture reviews, product discovery, website design and development, and full delivery teams for organizations that need software they can still operate confidently two years from now.
What we do
Five ways we work with a team
Technology advisory
An outside, technically fluent read on an existing system or a decision you're about to make: vendor selection, build-vs-buy, security posture, or whether an architecture will hold up at your next order of magnitude. Delivered as a working session and a short written recommendation, not a slide deck that sits unread.
Product discovery & roadmap
Before we write a line of code, we work with your team and your users to define what the product actually needs to do, sequence it into a roadmap you can defend to stakeholders, and flag the assumptions worth testing early.
Website design & development
Corporate sites, landing pages, and multilingual builds, designed with SEO, speed and responsiveness built in from the start (this site is one example). Design and implementation come from the same team, so nothing gets lost in handover after launch.
Custom software development
End-to-end build for web applications, internal tools, and integrations, with the same engineers from kickoff through handover, documentation written for the person who inherits the system, not just the person who built it.
Ongoing product support
For teams without a full-time engineering bench, we take on maintenance, monitoring, and incremental feature work on a retainer basis, so a product doesn't quietly decay after launch week ends.
Multilingual by design
Our consultants, engineers, and support staff work in both Japanese and English. Requirements discussions, code reviews, and incident response happen directly in either language, no interpreter in the loop.
Our product
MDS Vault: built for our own use, offered to yours
Every consulting practice eventually builds internal tools. Ours became a product. MDS Vault started as the system we needed to keep our real estate contracts, IDs, and compliance records secure and auditable, and grew into a standalone vault, built on React and backed by AWS, that other businesses now run on, from individuals to large enterprises.
Why it's relevant to a consulting engagement
Because we operate MDS Vault ourselves, our recommendations on data handling, access control, and cloud architecture come from what breaks in production, not just what looks correct in a proposal.
How engagements start
A short, low-risk first step
1. Scoping call
30 to 45 minutes to understand the problem, your constraints, and whether we're actually the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so.
2. Written proposal
Scope, approach, timeline and cost in plain language, no ambiguous line items that turn into surprise invoices later.
3. Work begins
A named point of contact from day one, regular check-ins on a cadence you choose, and documentation delivered as we go, not backfilled at the end.
